Our Beach

Bare faced
Perpetually wine-stained lips
Flushed sun-kissed cheeks
Eyes lined with tears of laughter
Lashes blinking against the ocean wind

Barefoot
Toe rings made of sand clumps
Skin soaked and wrinkled
Rough edges, clumsy scars
Glittering with crystals of salinity

Bared heart
Conversation rising with the night sky
Wave-like palpitations
Exhales that warm up the damp air
Building sandcastles of intertwined hands

Bare sky
Stars twinkling to the rhythm of high tide
Whispers surrounded by deep blues
Reduced to slow breaths in close embrace
Eyes shut peacefully, smiles intact
